Becoming a California girl was what I wanted to be when I grew up. Growing up in the midwest I had a picture perfect childhood, but I never seemed to have the midwest mentality. Tailgating at football games and drinking beer and eating BBQ. I was never a fan of either. But the ultimate worst was defrosting my car for an hour so I could just open up the door.
Kansas you will always have my heart but California is my soul.
I always had a strong love for the warm weather, beaches, palm trees, and salty air. I dreamed of living in California since I was a little girl. I remember singing California dreaming into a karaoke machine with my best friend Becky in her basement drawing peace signs on our cheeks and wearing obscene amounts of fringe.
Now I live 2 minutes from my toes in the sand and the wind in my hair. My dream came true and I’m lucky enough to have found my perfect companion to share it with me.
*WARNING: Obsession with sunsets! For those of you who follow my Instagram, you are all well aware of my sunset disorder. I am warning you all now. Many more of these to come. 🙂
